The Lisk SDK officially only supports Linux and macOS operating systems. If you wish to develop on Windows, it is recommended to use the Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL), which allows to run a real Linux environment on Windows.
To start developing with the Lisk SDK on Windows 10/11, simply follow these steps:
- Setup VSCode, if you aren’t already using it as IDE: Download Visual Studio Code - Mac, Linux, Windows
- Install WSL: Install WSL | Microsoft Docs
- Install WSL-Remote: Remote - WSL - Visual Studio Marketplace
- Start VSCode, open the command panel with
Control + Shift + P
and open a new Remote-WSL window. In the new Remote-WSL window, it is now possible to develop exactly the same way as on Linux.
